Youth Program: Skill-Building Breakout Sessions

10:30 am - 12:15 pm
March 13, 2018

Youth delegates will have two leadership development sessions available during this workshop.

Lobbying and Advocacy: Making the Youth Voice Heard – Roosevelt 1-3
Youth will learn from a panel of experts about lobbying and advocacy. They will then have a chance to apply those skills in an implementation activity to help them understand how they can make their voices heard.

Adult Ally Peer Learning Breakout Session – Roosevelt 4
The best kind of learning is from others who share the same passion with helping our youth become strong future leaders.  Peer-to-Peer Communications or “P2PComm” is model that effectively encourages and captures information shared by professionals with the same passion, responsibilities.  In this session table facilitators will present five common topics relating to youth councils.
